…imagine all the people living life in peace… you may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll join us and the world will live as one.

John Lennon wrote those words forty years ago as he dreamed of a world that might finally have peace. He wanted internal peace, he wanted interpersonal peace, and he even wanted international peace. Looking at the world around us, it unfortunately seems like he never found it. But Lennon was picking up on themes that resonate with a lot of us. We all want the same types of peace he wanted… because we’re all humans.
We at The RailHouse don’t always draw our imagination from dead British rock stars, but we think in this case we have the same vision. Our hope is that The RailHouse is a place where we can come together and practice living out true *shalom* peace, the kind of peace that Lennon craved, and the kind that a Jewish carpenter talked a lot about a couple millennia ago We’re experimenting with how to live together in one place; experi-menting with how to lead lives of service and work; experimenting with how to deepen our spirituality, deepen our bonds with each other, and deepen our connections with the community and world we live in. we believe that somehow all those things are connected and we’re willing to do the messy work of life that it takes to figure all of that out.
